Rental requirements
What you need to pick up the car
The basics most counters ask for — and the ones that vary branch by branch, which is where people get caught.
The three essentials
A valid driver’s licence in the main driver’s name; a payment card in that same name; and a driver who meets the minimum age (usually 21+). International visitors may also need a passport and, for some licences, an International Driving Permit.
The deposit hold
A refundable amount is held on the card at pick-up and released after you return the car. How much depends on the car class and the branch — a compact and a full-size SUV are not the same hold.
The things that vary
Debit acceptance, second-ID requirements, proof of return travel for out-of-state or international renters, and young-driver rules all change by location. Two branches of the same company can differ. That’s the part we confirm for your exact pick-up.
