Car rental atMIA
Miami International. We confirm how you reach the cars and your counter’s card, deposit and age rules before you fly — so you land, collect, and drive.
What we check before you book
Because the headline rate isn’t what strands people at the desk — the fine print is.
Where you pick up: the MIA Rental Car Center — a single facility on the airport’s west side.
Getting from the terminal to the cars
The free MIA Mover automated train connects the terminal to the Rental Car Center in a few minutes — follow the signs from level 3. No paid shuttle and no waiting for a bus, which makes MIA one of the smoother big-airport pick-ups.
What Miami counters tend to ask for
Florida is debit-friendly at many branches, but Miami counters often ask out-of-state and international renters for a second ID or proof of return travel, and some international licences need an International Driving Permit. We check what your branch requires so you’re not sent away.
Driving out: sort the tolls first
Miami’s expressways are almost entirely cashless (SunPass / Toll-By-Plate). Ask whether your car includes a transponder or bills a per-use admin fee — the 836 and 826 add up fast. Airport-area traffic and that interchange are heavy at peak.
When to pick up
The Rental Car Center is busiest when the South American and European banks land in the evening. A daytime pick-up moves faster.
