Denver International. We confirm how you reach the cars and your counter’s card, deposit and age rules before you fly — so you land, collect, and drive.
What we check before you book
Because the headline rate isn’t what strands people at the desk — the fine print is.
Where you pick up: off-airport rental lots reached by shuttle — the counters are not in the terminal.
Getting from the terminal to the cars
Rental shuttles pick up from Level 5, Island 4, outside baggage claim. DEN sits well out on the plains, so both the ride to the lots and the drive into Denver are longer than first-time visitors expect — allow real time on arrival.
What Denver counters tend to ask for
Colorado branches are straightforward, but winter is the variable: you may want a vehicle rated for snow, and some classes sell out in ski season. Debit acceptance varies by branch, so we confirm the card rule and the hold for yours before you commit.
Driving out: tolls and mountain rules
Two things catch people out at DEN. The E-470 toll road is a fast way around the metro but cashless — ask about the transponder. And the mountains west of Denver bring winter traction laws: I-70 can require snow tyres or chains, so size the car for the season, not just the trip.
When to pick up
Ski-season Saturdays and holiday weekends are the busiest. Off-peak, a daytime pick-up is quick.
